SCRIBBLING OGRE STUDIO
Imaginative Artwork by Jason G. Schneider
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jason was born and raised in central Iowa. He attended Iowa State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design in 2007. Standing 6'6" in height, Jason discovered he literally stood out among his classmates. While breaking the tips of his color pencils during gestural line drawing exercises, he often felt like an ogre attempting to scribble his way through his artwork. This would later become the inspiration for the name of his studio.
Jason continues to develop his craft as an illustrator. He enjoys the imaginative world which can be discovered through children's story books. He sees the challenge characters must face, the emotions they endure, and loves how it can all be captured with the use of color and facial expressions and shown through exaggerated visual storytelling. Jason is currently working on his own children's book illustration project, titled Mousetrap Crash.
As a dedicated family man, you will find Jason, his lovely wife Sara and children reside in Nevada, Iowa; a small town located along the historic Lincoln Highway.
CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
Illustrating children’s books is Jason’s strongest artistic passion. He is a member of the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators), and is working towards publishing his first book.
Many images shown here is a brief glimpse into the world of Mousetrap Crash, illustrations for a children's story written by Willy Thorn. Mousetrap Crash is a story about a mouse drawn in by the hypnotizing scent of cheese. Upon the discovery of the cheese is also the danger of a mouse trap ready to snap, so the inventive mouse puts together a plan to outwit the dangerous contraption.
